Priok Port Operations Return to Normal After Gate Pass System Adjustment

Operations at Port of Tanjung Priok, Indonesia’s busiest port, have returned to normal following adjustments to the gate pass system used for container terminal access, port authorities said on Monday.

“Due to the improved service, container terminal operations at Tanjung Priok are now running normally after the gate pass system adjustment,” said Yandri Trisaputra, Executive General Manager of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, during a press conference at the port.

He said vessel berthing as well as cargo and container loading and unloading activities were operating as usual. The entry and exit of container trucks have also resumed normal operations, supporting the smooth movement of goods through the country’s largest maritime gateway.

The adjustment was made to the port’s gate pass issuance system, which is used to print export and import container cards known as TILA. The improvement aims to better regulate the flow of logistics vehicles entering and leaving the port area.

“We improved the gate pass system to ensure container vehicle flows are more organized and efficient. The adjustment process has been completed and the system is now operating normally,” Yandri said.

Officials attending the press briefing included Head of Port Authority (KSOP) Heru Susanto, Pelindo Institutional Development Director Hendri Ginting, Pelindo Operation Director Prasetyadi, and Actng Executive Director of Pelindo Regional 2 Budi Prasetyadi.

Yandri said Pelindo would continue coordinating with regulators and port users to maintain efficient operations. Collaboration among port operators, authorities and logistics stakeholders is essential to ensuring uninterrupted cargo movement, he added.

“Synergy between port operators, regulators and service users is key to maintaining smooth operations in the port area,” he said.

He noted that Pelindo’s current priority is maintaining the steady flow of logistics activities, given the strategic role of ports in supporting national supply chains and economic activity.

Traffic conditions around the port also play an important role in ensuring the smooth distribution of goods, he said, adding that coordination with related agencies would continue to help manage truck movement in and around the port area.

“We will keep coordinating with all relevant parties to ensure port operations remain smooth and national logistics distribution continues without disruption,” Yandri said.
