SPSL Powers EV Growth with End-to-End Battery Material Logistics

As Indonesia accelerates its transition toward sustainable transportation, one logistics player is stepping up to keep the wheels of innovation turning. PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), a subholding of the state-owned port operator Pelindo, is now playing a critical role in the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.

Through its subsidiary, PT Multi Terminal Indonesia, SPSL has begun handling the warehousing, transport, and mobilization of raw materials for EV battery production.

The journey begins at the Ampenan Warehouse at Tanjung Emas Port in Semarang and continues to the heart of manufacturing in the Kendal Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

This operation is more than just a logistics service—it’s a strategic contribution to Indonesia’s clean energy ambitions. By ensuring that vital battery components are delivered efficiently and safely, SPSL is supporting the growth of a competitive domestic EV industry and the country’s broader commitment to reduce its carbon footprint.

“Our services reflect a real step forward in supporting Indonesia’s vision for renewable energy and sustainable industrial development,” said Ruri I. Rachmaputri, Commercial & Technical Director at SPSL.

“We offer end-to-end logistics solutions tailored to industries that are crucial to the country’s future, like electric vehicles, while answering customer needs more comprehensively, especially in key zones like Kendal.”

Ruri also emphasized that this initiative aligns with Indonesia’s national vision, Asta Cita, particularly goals to strengthen regional development and improve the quality of life through environmentally friendly technologies.

“Effective logistics is the backbone of any thriving industry,” she said. “With the right infrastructure and seamless connectivity, we’re not only moving goods, we’re driving national competitiveness.”

This latest move underscores SPSL’s growing role within the Pelindo Group ecosystem as a catalyst for industrial downstreaming and economic transformation. By leveraging multimodal transport networks and port infrastructure as logistics hubs, SPSL is bridging the gap between maritime logistics, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
