PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) said it is strengthening tin ore loading and unloading services at Tanjung Pandan Port in Bangka Belitung to support the distribution of one of Indonesia’s strategic mining commodities.
The company is working with PT TIMAH Tbk, one of Indonesia’s largest tin producers, to improve operational efficiency and ensure smoother logistics for tin shipments from the region.
PTP Nonpetikemas, a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), provides multipurpose port services and infrastructure aimed at supporting the handling of bulk and general cargo, including mining commodities.
Tin ore handling volumes at Tanjung Pandan Port have increased in recent years, reflecting growing activity and demand. The company recorded volumes of 3,293 tonnes in 2023, rising to 5,290 tonnes in 2024 and 8,558 tonnes in 2025. For 2026, volumes are projected to reach around 13,000 tonnes.
Last week, a barge carrying 450 tonnes of tin ore docked at Pier 08 of the port, marking part of ongoing loading and unloading operations aimed at maintaining steady commodity flows.
Asep Mardiyana, branch manager of PTP Nonpetikemas in Tanjung Pandan, said the improved performance reflected the company’s efforts to strengthen operational standards and cooperation with industry partners.
“PTP Nonpetikemas remains committed to improving loading and unloading services through facility optimization, stronger operational processes and strict HSSE standards,” Asep said.
He added that collaboration with PT TIMAH helps ensure a more efficient and reliable logistics chain for tin ore distribution from Bangka Belitung.
PTP Nonpetikemas said it plans to continue developing integrated and digitalized port services to support the distribution of national logistics and contribute to regional economic activity.
