PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Operations Remain Steady during Eid Period

Operations at the non-container terminal of PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) in Tanjung Priok are running normally during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, with yard activity and vessel traffic remaining stable, the company said on Thursday.

As of March 27, a total of 16 vessels were berthed at the terminal, handling mainly crude palm oil (CPO) and general cargo on international routes, the company said.

The terminal’s yard occupancy rate (YOR) stood at about 40%, below its typical average of 50% and well within the maximum threshold of 65%, indicating sufficient capacity to handle cargo flows.

To mitigate potential congestion on access roads to the port, the operator has prepared buffer parking areas covering around 5 hectares, including sites in Inggom and nearby regional zones, to accommodate surges in truck traffic.

PTP Nonpetikemas said it is also maintaining close monitoring of gate operations and terminal systems to anticipate higher vehicle flows during the holiday period.

Pelindo Regional 2, together with PTP Nonpetikemas and other Pelindo Group entities operating at Tanjung Priok, has established a joint command center to coordinate operations and ensure the smooth flow of logistics.

Preparatory measures have been in place since the start of Ramadan, including coordination with shipping lines, customers and freight forwarders to schedule cargo handling activities and avoid bottlenecks during restrictions on freight transportation.

“We remain optimistic that loading and unloading activities will continue smoothly, supported by safe yard conditions and adequate operational facilities,” said Budi Utoyo, branch manager of the Tanjung Priok non-container terminal.
