JAI Enjoyed 14.2% Profit Increase in Q1

PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (IDX:IPCM/JAI) enjoyed positive performance in first quarter this year. This subsidiary of Sub-holding Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM) booked revenue and profit increase during the quarter.

The company booked Rp 213 billion, a 15.5% year on year, from Rp 184.5 billion. This supported it to enjoy a profit increase of 14.2%, to Rp 37.7 billion, from Rp33.0 billion in Q1 2021. The vessel service business unit contributed the highest, then followed by vessel management and other marine services.

Towage activities contributed the highest of Rp 178 billion, or 83.8% of the total income.  Income from vessel management reached Rp 13.5 billion, contributing the second highest or 6.3%% of the total, then followed by marine service (Rp 12.5 billion) or 5.9% of the total. The pilotage contributed 4.1%.

Of the towage service, the activities at general ports contributed the highest, reaching Rp 118.1 billion, or 66.2% of total income from towage services. Income from towage service at owned terminals (TUKS) and special terminals (Tersus) reached Rp 36.4 billion and Rp 23.8 billion, respectively.

JAI asset also increased 5.5% to Rp 1.5 trillion compared to 2021.

JAI President Director Amri Yusuf explained that the positive growth of macro economy during the quarter has helped the company income growth. Amri also optimistic that the existing macro economy growth will encourage the income growth in the remaining period of the year.

“It is true the macro business and economy will be challenged by the current geopolitical issue of Russia Ukraine War. But, we are optimistic the JAI positive trend will continue until the next quarters of this year,” Amri said.

Moreover, JAI will continue to get new income sources through business expansion to other areas. JAI has expanded business services to new markets including to Aceh. JAI has built cooperation with PT Langlang Laju Layang for pilotage and towage of Ship to Ship (STS) activities at Meulaboh, Aceh.
