DKB, Malaysian RIA Solution MoU on Maritime Cooperation and HR Training

State owned shipbuilder PT Dok & Perkapalan Kodja Bahari (DKB) has just signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RIA Solutions Sdn Bhd Malaysia on maritime cooperation and human resources (HR) training.

The two parties signed the MoU on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The MoU was signed by DKB Business Director, Rudolf Valintino Bey, who presently as Acting Director for Finance and HR & QHSE, and Managing Director RIA Solutions Sdn Bhd, Dato Senu Mohd Noor.

Some executive boards from the two parties also witnessed the MoU assignment, including DKB’s Senior Vice President Santi, Senior Manager for Planning and Development, and Senior HRD.

On behalf of Malaysian Government, Director General of Work Safety and Health at Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia Ir. Mohd Hatta Bin Zakaria and CEO Matrade Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Azis, and Director Matrade Idzham Abdul Hamid also witnessed the MoU assignment.

Meanwhile, though not joining the event, DKB President Director Ari Rochmat Basuki had expressed support and appreciation to the MoU.

In a press statement, Rudolf Valintino Bey explained that this MoU is meant to build up business cooperation, in addition to tie up bilateral relationship between the two countries.

“PT DKB appreciates this MoU very much. Hopefully, this will tie up cooperation in shipbuilding industries, offshore industries, and human resources development,” Rudolf, who is also an executive at Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry KADIN and Vice Chairman of Aptesindo, said.

According to the MoU document, RIA Solutions through its subsidiary PT ASIC RIA Nusantara will partner with DKB in running the professional training centre in Indonesia.

RIA Founder and CEO Dato Senu’ Mohd Noor highlighted the importance of international expansion for the company growth, saying relying solely on national-level businesses is not enough for the company’s growth.

“That’s why we chose Indonesia as our first international expansion,” said Mohd Noor.

He said that with this MoU, RIA Solutions will focus on the shipyard, offshore, and oil & gas industries, which aims to increase economic growth, knowledge transfer, and encourage educational opportunities in both countries.

“The location of the Training Center is in the PT DKB Jakarta shipyard, which is a historic Dutch building from 1873, will later become a state-of-the-art training center,” he said.

President Director of PT ASIC RIA Nusantara, Nur Farina Khalil added that Matrade’s role has led to the success of PT ASIC RIA Nusantara since the first MoU was signed with PT DKB in 2022.

“With Matrade’s continued support, we can now advance our services in Indonesia more smoothly and supported by a strong RIA team. With this collaboration, we also anticipate significant growth in Malaysian exports to Indonesia,” said Khalil.

In the series of MoUs, the IR 4.0 Innovation & Technology Exhibition and Conference was also held by the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources, the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), and the Masters Builders Association Malaysia on 28-30 August 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC).

RIA Solutions Sdn Bhd Malaysia, is a service company engaged in the oil and gas sector, and has training and education centers in Terengganu, Sabah, and Sarawak, with syllabus accredited by many international bodies, such as DOSH Malaysia and Petronas.
