Public listed car terminal operator PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal Tbk (IPCC) has taken on the management of RORO (Roll On-Roll Off) Terminal in Trisakti Port, Banjarmasin, transitioning from parent PT Pelindo Multi Terminal as part of its ongoing strategy to enhance operational efficiency.
This move aligns with the findings of a strategic study on Pelindo’s Business Purification program.
During the Pelindo Forum 2024 in Makassar, IPCC signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the operation and maintenance of the Trisakti RoRo Terminal in Banjarmasin with Pelindo Multi Terminal. This agreement marks a significant milestone as part of IPCC’s celebration of its merger with Pelindo.
Demonstrating its commitment to the Beyond the Gate business development strategy aimed at boosting revenue, IPCC’s signing of this PKS reflects its dedication to improving company performance.
A key aspect of IPCC’s strategic plan is to expand its operational footprint and enhance connectivity, ultimately adding value through integrated services across its managed terminals in Jakarta, Medan, Pontianak, Balikpapan, and Makassar.
IPCC President Director Sugeng Mulyadi emphasized that the operation of the Trisakti Satellite Terminal in Banjarmasin is part of a collaborative multipurpose business cluster managed by Subholding PT Pelindo Multi Terminal. IPCC is focused on three core areas: vehicle terminal operations, support services, and vehicle distribution management.
“Another strategic advantage of this PKS is the transformation and standardization of vehicle terminal services, modeled after successful initiatives in our previous operational areas. This includes enhancing operational processes, improving HR competencies, upgrading terminal infrastructure, and implementing advanced information technology at the Banjarmasin satellite terminal. These efforts aim to optimize land potential and productivity, ultimately increasing revenue and profit for both IPCC and the Pelindo Group,” said Sugeng on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
He added that IPCC prioritizes the safety and security of workers during loading and unloading operations at the vehicle terminal, ensuring that customers can confidently send their cargo through IPCC-managed facilities.
At the Trisakti Satellite Terminal, IPCC plans to operate a vehicle terminal with an average throughput of 39,000 units per year, along with a 0.4-hectare stacking yard and various supporting facilities for the RoRo terminal.
With the launch of this satellite terminal, IPCC anticipates significant improvements in performance, further enhancing the connectivity it has established as a manager of vehicle terminals on Kalimantan, complementing its existing operations in Pontianak and Balikpapan.
“This initiative supports logistics activities related to natural resources that require a supply of heavy equipment and vehicles to facilitate mining and development projects,” he concluded.
