The ongoing transformation at PTP Nonpetikemas, a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal and part of the Pelindo Group, has significantly enhanced the performance of its terminals. This transformation, aimed at improving efficiency, competitiveness, and safety within Indonesia’s logistics and port sector, has reduced port stay by 33% and boosted productivity by up to 140%.
By the third quarter of 2024, PTP Nonpetikemas’ terminals successfully reduced their average port stay from three days to just two. This achievement is largely due to the implementation of the Pelindo Terminal Operating System-Multipurpose (PTOS-M), a cutting-edge technology that streamlines port operations and accelerates loading and unloading processes. The result is a substantial reduction in logistics costs, bolstering Indonesia’s position in global port rankings.
In addition to optimizing port stay, PTP Nonpetikemas has seen remarkable increases in its Ton per Ship per Day (T/S/D) metrics, with productivity gains reaching as high as 140%. These improvements highlight the company’s dedication to enhancing operational efficiency across several areas, including technology, process optimization, human resources, equipment, infrastructure, and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards.
Beyond technology, the transformation encompasses five additional core pillars: Process, Human Resources, Equipment, Infrastructure, and HSSE. Together, these efforts have elevated operational efficiency and ensured the safety of port operations, with zero fatalities during the transformation period.
Indra Hidayat Sani, President Director of PTP Nonpetikemas, emphasized that the transformation aims to fuel the company’s growth and strengthen its role as a key player in the logistics sector. “Our goal is to expand beyond terminal operations while maintaining our zero-fatality record and prioritizing safety and efficiency,” he stated.
Record-Breaking Achievements Across Branches
The transformation at PTP Nonpetikemas has led to exceptional results across its branches. For instance, the Tanjung Priok branch reached a throughput of 10 million tons by the third quarter of 2024. It also achieved the highest Ton per Ship per Day (T/S/D) performance in the general cargo category, with an impressive 4,004.3 T/S/D.

Meanwhile, the Teluk Bayur branch exceeded expectations with a T/S/D of 6,382.56 for liquid bulk cargo, surpassing its target of 5,398.73 T/S/D. This achievement solidifies Teluk Bayur as the leading port in Indonesia for handling Crude Palm Oil (CPO).
The Panjang branch also outperformed expectations, with T/S/D figures surpassing targets across multiple categories: bag cargo, liquid bulk, and dry bulk. Specifically, the T/S/D for bag cargo was 115% above target (RKAP for Q3 2024), 140% in the liquid bulk category, and 104% in the dry bulk category.
Operating across 11 strategic port branches in Indonesia—including Tanjung Priok, Banten, Cirebon, Panjang, Bengkulu, Jambi, Palembang, Teluk Bayur, Tanjung Pandan, Pontianak, and Kijing Terminal—PTP Nonpetikemas is focused on expanding its market reach. By fostering collaboration and synergy with strategic partners, the company aims to develop its business organically and non-organically, addressing the growing demands of Indonesia’s logistics sector.
As PTP Nonpetikemas continues to innovate and optimize its operations, its contribution to the national logistics system remains a key driver of Indonesia’s economic growth and global competitiveness.
