ALFI New Executive Boards to Focus on Four Key Issues

New executive boards of Indonesia Logistics and Forwarders’ Association (ALFI/ILFA) commits to support the national logistics sector to achieve greater efficiency, aligning with the vision of Golden Indonesia (Indonesia Emas) 2045. Therefore, ALFI will focus on four key issues: diversification, security, transparency, and sustainability.

Akbar Djohan, the newly elected Chairman of ALFI emphasized these key issues on his remark speech for the inauguration of the new executive boards of ALFI Headquarter on February 2, 2024 at the office of Ministry of Transportation.

Despite Indonesia’s stagnant ranking at 116th out of 213 countries (Trading Across Borders Index in 2020), Akbar, also the Commercial Director of PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KRAS), highlighted the importance of good coordination and cooperation in solving transportation problems, emphasizing the need for better cargo transport performance, safety, speed, punctuality, and reasonable tariffs.

He stressed the importance of immediate implementation of an integrated logistics platform, including Single Submission, Single Billing, Single Payment Channel, Single Risk Management, and Single Monitoring, while continuously improving this platform and ensuring interconnected system interfaces without eliminating existing systems.

ALFI is committed to improving Education and Training (Diklat) through the ALFI Institute, enhancing human resource competency with international standard curricula from FIATA and UNESCAP, and conducting professional competency certifications through the Logistics Insan Prima Certification Institute (LSP Logistik Insan Prima).

“Reliable and competent Human Resources (HR) are highly needed to optimize the logistics and supply chain systems,” said Akbar, emphasizing the importance of skilled personnel in navigating the competitive landscape of logistics.

The Ministry of Transportation officially inaugurated the executive boards of ALFI Headquarter (DPP ALFI) for the 2023-2028 period. This follows the appointment of officials based on the results of the ALFI 7th National Conference (Munas ALFI) held in Jakarta on December 11, 2023.

Novie Riyanto, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transportation, emphasized that ALFI is a strategic partner of the government that has significantly contributed to the freight transportation system in Indonesia. ALFI’s contributions extend beyond operational aspects to providing valuable input for formulating policies or regulations.

The Ministry anticipates that the ALFI will enhance cooperation, synergy, and collaboration with all technical implementation units of the Ministry of Transportation across various regions.
