PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI) has further solidified its position in the shipping industry with the addition of a new oil tanker, MT Marlin 88, bringing its total fleet to 10 vessels. The vessel is built to adhere to strict safety and environmental standards, ensuring the integrity of the cargo and enabling timely, safe deliveries across Indonesia.

“We are committed to enhancing our operational capabilities, particularly in supporting Indonesia’s energy logistics needs,” said Tirta Hidayat, President Director of HUMI, in a statement on Monday (February 17, 2025). “With the addition of this new tanker, we are confident that we can further improve the reliability and punctuality of fuel distribution across the country.”

A key feature of the MT Marlin 88 is its cargo heating system, which not only makes it suitable for transporting clean products but also enables it to carry crude oil and black oil. This flexibility expands the vessel’s potential, allowing it to meet a wide range of transportation demands. The MT Marlin 88 is also equipped with the capability to serve as a Floating Storage Offloading (FSO) unit in the future.

This addition aligns with HUMI’s strategic focus on increasing fleet value and expanding its service offerings within the energy sector. With the new tanker, HUMI’s fleet now includes 10 oil tankers, with an average vessel age of 23 years.

“While the average age of our vessels is considered medium, the key focus is on maintaining operational quality through a rigorous Plan Maintenance System. This ensures compliance with regulations and helps keep our fleet competitive,” added Tirta.

HUMI’s current fleet includes the MT Griya Cirebon, MT Griya Jawa, MT Griya Enim, MT Griya Ambon, MT Semar 77, MT New Stella, MT Mutiara Global, MT Griya Ternate, and MT Anargya I.

In line with its sustainability initiatives, HUMI is actively developing technologies to monitor ship operations, enhance fuel efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions. These efforts are part of the company’s broader commitment to support the shipping sector’s decarbonization efforts.
