“Nipa Island, one of Indonesia’s outermost islands, plays a vital role in maintaining territorial integrity, national security, and defense. It also holds significant potential as an economic hub due to its rich natural resources and strategic location for trade and logistics, particularly maritime,” said Tubagus Patrick, SVP Corporate Secretary of SPJM.

“This collaboration with the Indonesian Navy is crucial for guaranteeing security and providing top-notch services to ships engaged in anchoring and ship-to-ship transfers in Nipa waters,” he said further.

As part of the agreement, SPJM and the Indonesian Navy will work together to establish standard operating procedures (SOP) for security measures supporting smooth port operations in NTAA waters.

Both parties have committed to maintaining close coordination and communication on security matters to ensure uninterrupted port services. Additionally, the collaboration will adhere to the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L) Management System, prioritizing environmental sustainability and the welfare of local communities.

“With this strengthened security framework, we hope to attract more foreign vessels to NTAA, which will boost the local economy. This partnership is expected to create jobs, increase Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), and stimulate growth in upstream sectors like logistics suppliers,” Patrick said.
