PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) specializing in marine equipment, port services, shipyards, and dredging, continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) standards.
SPJM recently took part in the Workshop on Strengthening the Capacity of the Occupational Safety and Health Supervisory Committee (P2K3), organized by the South Sulawesi Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans).
The event, held on Thursday, April 24, brought together 12 companies from various industrial sectors across the Makassar region that share a dedication to fostering a robust occupational safety culture.
The workshop is part of Disnakertrans’ ongoing development program aimed at enhancing the implementation of occupational safety and health (K3) practices in the workplace.
Moh. Subiyan, Senior Vice President of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE/K3L) and SPJM Quality Management System, who also served as Head of the Workshop Committee, emphasized the importance of the event in strengthening the P2K3 structure and improving members’ competencies.
“We hope this workshop raises greater awareness of the importance of K3, promotes a stronger safety culture, and helps prevent workplace accidents and occupational diseases. Ultimately, these improvements will lead to greater productivity and better service to the community,” he said.
Over the course of the two-day workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions covering key topics such as K3 fundamentals, relevant regulations, core duties and functions (Tupoksi) of P2K3, and effective training design techniques for workforce development. The sessions were led by experts from the South Sulawesi Disnakertrans and designed to ensure that participants not only understand theoretical concepts but are also equipped to apply them effectively in their work environments.
The provincial Manpower Office also reiterated its commitment to advancing the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in the region—not merely to meet regulatory requirements, but to promote innovation and best practices for a safer, healthier, and more productive workplace.
“As a follow-up to the workshop, we will establish the SMK3 P2K3 Forum of South Sulawesi Province,” the representative announced.
The upcoming forum will serve as a strategic platform to raise K3 awareness, broaden understanding of workplace risks and hazards, and reinforce regulatory compliance across all industrial sectors in the province.
SPJM’s active participation in the workshop reflects its firm commitment to going beyond its core maritime services—by ensuring a safe, sustainable, and high-performing work environment for all employees.
