INSA Jaya Strengthens Strategic Ties with KSOP Tanjung Priok

In a move that underscores the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in Indonesia’s maritime ecosystem, the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association Chapter Jakarta (INSA Jaya) paid an official visit to the Tanjung Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) office on Wednesday morning, June 5th.

The visit, led by INSA Jaya Chairman Andi S. Patonangi, marks a strategic effort to deepen synergy and reinforce open communication with the port authority, seen as a crucial partner in maintaining the fluidity and resilience of national shipping operations.

Accompanying Patonangi were several key figures from the Indonesian shipping industry, including Arwan Selmianto, Moh. Erwin Y. Zubir, Sunarno HS, Pahala Sianturi, Bambang, and Natashya. Their presence underscored the significance of the visit and the collective will to promote more integrated maritime cooperation.

The delegation was warmly received by Capt. Heru, Head of the Tanjung Priok Main KSOP, along with senior KSOP officials Wim Pondang PH, Kurniawan, and Helmi. In an atmosphere described as both cordial and constructive, Capt. Heru reaffirmed KSOP’s commitment to seamless service and operational readiness.

“We at KSOP Tanjung Priok are committed to 24/7 service. There is no compromise when it comes to ensuring port operations run smoothly. If there’s anything to be discussed, I am available at any time, day or night,” said Capt. Heru.

Beyond daily operations, the meeting also served as a platform to address lessons learned from recent port congestion incidents. Capt. Heru emphasized the critical need for unified efforts to avoid similar disruptions in the future.

“Addressing congestion is not solely the responsibility of KSOP. We need active collaboration from associations, terminal operators, and all relevant stakeholders,” he added.

Echoing the call for collaboration, INSA Jaya’s Andi S. Patonangi voiced strong support for KSOP’s openness and proactiveness.

“We sincerely appreciate the transparent and responsive attitude of KSOP Tanjung Priok. INSA Jaya is ready to support all preventative and control measures, on both the land and sea side, to ensure smooth logistics flow,” said Patonangi.

He further stressed the role of INSA Jaya as an active problem-solving partner. “The port is the pulse of national logistics. We cannot work in silos. Collaboration is no longer a choice, it’s a necessity.”

The meeting reflected a shared ambition: to transform Indonesia’s ports into symbols of professionalism, efficiency, and global competitiveness. With Tanjung Priok, the busiest and most vital port in the nation, acting as the nerve center of this transformation, both parties underscored the importance of removing operational bottlenecks and strengthening digital-era logistics infrastructure.

“This isn’t just about exchanging formalities,” said one INSA Jaya representative. “It’s about action. We want to see Tanjung Priok become a showcase of speed and service, not a symbol of congestion.”

Both INSA Jaya and KSOP Tanjung Priok agreed to maintain active communication and accelerate joint initiatives for improving port performance. Their shared vision? A modern, people-centered, and congestion-free port that supports national logistics growth and positions Indonesia as a maritime power in the global trade arena.
