Indonesia’s PT Integrasi Logistik Cipta Solusi (ILCS) has launched the third edition of its national innovation competition, ICON 3.0, aimed at developing young talent to tackle digital transformation challenges in the country’s logistics and port sectors.
Held under the theme “Empowering Logistics Through Innovation: From Youth, For Indonesia,” the 2025 competition invites students from across the archipelago to design scalable, tech-based solutions to real-world problems in logistics—a sector seen as critical to Indonesia’s economic growth and global competitiveness.
ILCS, a subsidiary of state-run port operator Pelindo, said the initiative aligns with national priorities to modernize the logistics ecosystem through innovation and industry-academic collaboration.
“Active student participation from across Indonesia is a tangible way to engage the younger generation in accelerating digital transformation in the logistics sector,” said Dimas Giri Prabowo, ILCS Corporate Secretary.
ICON 3.0 centers around three core objectives: fostering innovation tailored to digital transformation needs, promoting student engagement in solving real industry challenges, and developing solutions that integrate technological, economic, and institutional perspectives.
Running from July through September, the competition will culminate in a final exhibition and awards ceremony. Ten finalist teams, to be announced in early September, will pitch their projects to industry experts and stakeholders.
By creating a national platform for applied student innovation, ILCS says it hopes to bridge gaps between education and enterprise while cultivating a new generation of digital problem-solvers in logistics.
“The goal is to create innovations that are not only relevant, but also sustainable and impactful,” the company said in a statement.
ICON 3.0 is part of ILCS’s broader effort to support Indonesia’s digital logistics roadmap, seen as pivotal to reducing costs and improving efficiency across supply chains in Southeast Asia’s largest economy.
