Pelindo Solusi Logistik Backs Green Energy Shift with Green Coke Transport Services in Riau

PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), a subholding of state-owned port operator Pelindo, has launched a new logistics service to support the transport of green petroleum coke (Green Coke), a key industrial byproduct from PT Pertamina (Persero), as part of its growing role in Indonesia’s energy transition and industrial downstreaming agenda.

Through its logistics subsidiary, PT Prima Indonesia Logistik (PT PIL), SPSL is now facilitating the land transport of Green Coke from Pertamina’s Kilang Internasional Refinery Unit II in Dumai, Riau, to the Dumai Port, using a dedicated fleet of dump trucks.

Green Coke, a byproduct of the oil refining process, is increasingly in demand across industries such as aluminum production, steel manufacturing, and electric vehicle battery components, all of which are central to Indonesia’s industrial and energy transformation goals.

“This service is part of SPSL’s commitment to delivering end-to-end logistics solutions that support national value creation from domestic resources,” said Ruri I. Rachmaputri, Commercial & Technical Director of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik.

Ruri emphasized that the initiative reflects the growing synergy between state-owned enterprises under the broader Asta Cita vision, particularly in economic resilience, downstream industrial development, and national energy independence.

“We believe that efficient, reliable logistics is the foundation of industrial growth. By integrating port, land, and multimodal services, SPSL helps ensure supply certainty and cost-effective delivery across Indonesia’s logistics network,” she said.

The Green Coke transport operation is seen as a strategic move to align Pelindo Group’s logistics infrastructure with the needs of high-value, processing-based industries. The service highlights SPSL’s growing capabilities beyond maritime logistics, expanding its reach into industrial support and inland transport.

Operational feedback has also affirmed SPSL’s service quality. “We are very satisfied with the professionalism and punctuality of PT PIL and the SPSL Group,” said Jani P., a representative from PT Pertamina’s operations team in Dumai.

As demand for sustainable energy and industrial inputs grows, SPSL plans to expand integrated logistics offerings tailored to evolving market needs.
