PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM), a subholding of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), has launched a leadership enhancement programme aimed at strengthening managerial competencies across its operations.
The three-day programme, held from Dec 9 to Dec 11, brings together structural officials from all SPJM operational areas as the company seeks to accelerate leadership development in response to increasingly dynamic and competitive business conditions.
SPJM operates across marine services, equipment, port services, dredging and shipyard businesses, collectively known as MEPS.

The training focuses on three core leadership competencies: effective decision-making within delegated authority, the ability to motivate and mobilise teams, and a strong understanding of service excellence standards.
“This programme is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen service excellence in line with SPJM’s long-term vision,” said Tubagus Patrick, Senior Vice President of Corporate Secretary at SPJM, who also served as part of the training faculty. “We want to ensure our leaders are well equipped to navigate both challenges and opportunities in a highly competitive environment.”
Carrying the theme “Strategic Leadership for Business Excellence,” the programme also featured knowledge-sharing sessions led by senior executives from SPJM’s headquarters. Several senior vice presidents delivered presentations on the implementation of key divisional functions and strategic priorities.
SPJM said the initiative is expected to enhance the ability of its management team to provide clear direction, safeguard service quality and lead teams towards stronger performance. The company added that stronger leadership capabilities would also help foster employee engagement, support talent retention and ensure smoother leadership transitions, contributing to long-term organisational stability.
