SPJM Signs SLA Deal with Cement Producer Indocement in Palembang

Indonesia’s PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM), a subholding of state-owned port operator Pelindo, has signed a service cooperation agreement with cement producer PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk (INTP) to support the distribution of construction materials through the company’s dedicated terminal in Palembang.

INTP, one of the country’s largest cement manufacturers, operates a network of factories and terminals across Indonesia, including a special terminal located within Palembang’s Class I Pilotage Waters, an area under SPJM’s operational responsibility. The companies said the new agreement is aimed at ensuring smoother vessel movements and more reliable supply flows from the site.

The deal, covering pilotage and towing services, was signed on Nov. 12 by Captain Agusman Katoroy, Senior Manager of SPJM Region 2, and Andi Poernomo Harijanto, INTP’s Distribution Network Division Manager. The ceremony was also attended by Nunu Husnul Khitam, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Palembang.

SPJM said the partnership is part of its strategy to strengthen cooperation with industries operating in its area, particularly those in sectors deemed vital to public needs.

“As a state-owned enterprise playing a role as a development agent, collaborating with key industries helps us reinforce our commitment to infrastructure development and public facilities,” said Tubagus Patrick, SPJM’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Secretary. “By ensuring the smooth distribution and availability of cement — a critical material for infrastructure projects — we hope to accelerate development.”

He added that the company’s support will come through a structured pilotage and towing service scheme for INTP’s terminal operations.
