PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), a sub-holding of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) doing business in multipurpose terminal, said it will keep all ports under its management operating normally during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period, as passenger movement and logistics activity increase.
The company, which manages non-container terminals, said port services will remain on standby around the clock to ensure the smooth flow of goods and passengers, despite government policies encouraging work-from-anywhere arrangements during the year-end holidays.
Pelindo Multi Terminal operates 20 branches across Indonesia, spanning Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and the Bali–Nusa Tenggara region. Key ports include Belawan, Dumai, Tanjung Emas, Jamrud Nilam Mirah, Balikpapan, Makassar, Benoa, and Lembar, among others.
“Our port operations will continue to run normally throughout the Christmas and New Year period,” Director of Operations Arif Rusman Yulianto said in a statement.
“We have prepared anticipatory measures to handle potential increases in cargo and passenger traffic, as well as year-end weather conditions, to safeguard national logistics flows and maintain service quality.”

Arif said the company has conducted checks on port facilities and cargo-handling equipment, strengthened workforce readiness through adjusted work patterns and personnel assignments, and regulated internal and external traffic flows to prevent congestion.
Pelindo Multi Terminal has also enhanced occupational safety and health measures, intensified weather monitoring, and strengthened coordination with port authorities and other stakeholders, he added.
The company said it will continue to support government policies on cargo transport restrictions during the holiday period while ensuring that loading and unloading activities remain optimal.
Arif said customers experiencing issues with non-container port services or seeking further information can contact Pelindo Multi Terminal’s customer relations unit.
“We are committed to delivering safe, smooth, and efficient port services for both passengers and cargo,” he said. “With these preparations, we are confident we can maintain customer trust and enter 2026 with improved operational performance.”
