PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal Tbk (IPCC) reported a 15.58% year on year (yoy) rise in consolidated cargo handling by November, supported by inland transportation initiatives and operational transformation across its terminals, the company said.
The vehicle and multipurpose terminal operator, part of state-owned port group Pelindo’s Multi Terminal Subholding, handled 1,104,883 cargo units during the period, including completely built-up (CBU) vehicles, trucks and buses, and heavy equipment. Operational performance improved 25.64% compared with a year earlier, according to company data.
Growth was recorded despite ongoing global and domestic economic uncertainty, with the strongest gains seen in the truck and bus segment. Volumes in the category rose 44.42% year-on-year to 224,717 units, driven mainly by increased demand from the mining sector amid Indonesia’s mineral downstreaming policy.
Consolidated ship calls rose to 3,225 visits by November, an increase of 581 calls from the same period last year.
Exports, particularly of CBU vehicles, continued to support overall performance. By October, IPCC had handled 351,883 CBU export units, up about 9% from a year earlier. Vietnam was Indonesia’s largest export destination, receiving 72,776 vehicles by November.
Electrified vehicles accounted for a growing share of throughput. IPCC processed 83,720 electric and hybrid vehicles, including battery electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, representing 7.57% of total CBU volumes. Imports were dominated by Asian brands such as BYD, VinFast and AION.
Total CBU volumes rose 9.57% year-on-year to 850,712 units, while the heavy equipment segment recorded the second-highest growth, increasing 22.93% to 29,454 units.
IPCC Corporate Secretary Endah Dwi Liesly said the company remained optimistic heading into the fourth quarter.
“The implementation of the PTOS-C digital system, inland transportation services for BYD cargo, stronger collaboration and operational transformation across all terminals are expected to deliver optimal results,” she said, adding that IPCC expects financial performance to grow by more than 10% this year compared with 2024.
The initiatives are aimed at strengthening IPCC’s value proposition for customers, investors and other stakeholders, she said.
