Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) reported a 9% rise in container throughput in January from a year earlier, driven by a sharp increase in international shipments and additional shipping services.
The Surabaya-based terminal handled 234,895 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in January 2026, up 9.1% from 215,819 TEUs in the same month last year, the company said.
Growth was led by international container traffic, which surged 91.9% year-on-year to 49,886 TEUs from 26,000 TEUs in January 2025. The increase was supported by three additional ad hoc calls from Wan Hai Lines and the launch of five new international services that began operating in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The company said the performance reflects rising demand for cross-border logistics services and improved operational readiness that enabled the terminal to accommodate higher cargo volumes at the start of the year.
President Director David Pandapotan Sirait said the results were in line with an improving trend in global container flows and growing customer confidence in the terminal’s services.
“PT Terminal Teluk Lamong consistently prioritizes reliable, safe and competitive operational services,” he said in a statement.
Other terminals managed by TTL also posted gains. TPK Lamong recorded a 27% increase in throughput to 91,530 TEUs compared with the same period last year, while TPK Nilam saw volumes rise 21% to 42,003 TEUs.
The company said it remains optimistic about maintaining growth momentum in 2026, supported by operational efficiency measures and continued investment in human capital, as competition in the logistics sector intensifies.
