Terminal Teluk Lamong, Surabaya Govt Tie up Collaboration to Boost Logistics Connectivity

Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi visited PT Terminal Teluk Lamong on Sunday (March 1) to strengthen cooperatio between the city government and port operator Pelindo Group to support infrastructure development and improve logistics connectivity.

During the visit, Eri inspected the terminal’s Integrated Planning and Control Room, a real-time digital operations center that monitors vessel berthing schedules, container and dry bulk cargo movements, and overall terminal management to improve efficiency and ensure smoother cargo flows.

The visit was attended by officials from Pelindo Group, including PT Pelindo Regional 3 and PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, as well as representatives from port authorities and industry associations. Those present included the Tanjung Perak Port Authority (KSOP), the East Java chapter of the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI/ILFA), the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA) Surabaya, and other logistics stakeholders.

Participants raised issues related to supporting infrastructure, logistics service connectivity and coordination to ensure smoother cargo distribution in port areas and across Surabaya.

David Pandapotan Sirait, president director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, said the visit marked a strategic step to enhance coordination between the terminal operator and the municipal government.

“We see the mayor’s visit as a sign of shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between Pelindo Group, including PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, and the Surabaya city government,” David said.

“We are ready to work together to support infrastructure development and improve logistics connectivity while ensuring modern, efficient and reliable port services.”

Eri said closer coordination was needed to address infrastructure challenges in both the port area and the city.

“This visit is part of an effort to align perspectives between the Surabaya city government and Pelindo,” he said.

“We need to work together to resolve various challenges, particularly those related to infrastructure strengthening in the Pelindo area and across Surabaya, so that logistics activities run smoothly and support economic growth.”
