PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) will temporarily divert ferry services from the Bajoe–Kolaka route to the Siwa–Kolaka route between April 1 and June 1, 2026, as repair work is carried out on port infrastructure at Bajoe.
The adjustment follows planned repairs to the movable bridge structure at Pier 1 of Bajoe Port aimed at improving infrastructure reliability and ensuring vessel safety during berthing.
President Director Heru Widodo said the repair work forms part of the company’s effort to maintain safety standards while ensuring ferry services remain available for passengers and logistics distribution.
“This movable bridge repair is a strategic effort to ensure port infrastructure remains in prime condition,” Heru said on Wednesday.
“We are committed to maintaining service continuity through measured operational adjustments so that public mobility and logistics flows continue to run optimally.”
The temporary route diversion has been stipulated in Letter No. AP.201/1/16/DJPD/2026 issued by the Directorate General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia, which regulates ferry operations during the repair period.
Under the arrangement, ferry services will operate between Siwa and Kolaka with the same fare structure as the Bajoe–Kolaka route, ensuring passengers will not face additional travel costs.
To support operations during the diversion period, ASDP has prepared several vessels operated by private shipping companies, including KMP Mishima, KMP Masagena, KMP Kota Bumi, KMP Permata NST, KMP Raja Dilaut and KMP Fais. KMP Kota Bumi is expected to begin strengthening services in the second week of March.
General Manager of ASDP’s Bajoe Branch, Anom Sedayu, said the company is coordinating with regional authorities and stakeholders to ensure the rerouting process runs smoothly and safely.
“Based on coordination with the Wajo Regency Transportation Agency and other stakeholders, a maximum vehicle weight limit of 30 tons will be enforced to maintain operational safety,” Sedayu said, adding that sailing schedules and operational patterns are still being finalized.
Between January 2025 and February 2026, Bajoe Port served more than 28,000 passengers and around 56,000 vehicles, highlighting its strategic role in strengthening connectivity and logistics flows across Sulawesi.
ASDP said the repair work and operational adjustments are expected to improve the reliability of port facilities at Bajoe, paving the way for safer and more efficient ferry services in the future.
