PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) reported a 4.51% year-on-year increase in container throughput in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, driven by stronger international shipping activity and new service routes.
The terminal handled 694,996 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the January–March period, up from 665,007 TEUs in the same period a year earlier, the company said.
Growth was supported by the addition of five new international services – Feeder Asia Express Service (FAX), Sea-India Service 1 (SEI1), TPI Service, TI1 Service and CIM Service – as well as seven ad hoc international vessel calls. Traffic also increased on routes to Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and the Middle East.
Domestic container volumes also rose, supported by improved shipping performance on routes to Makassar, Kendari and Berau via TPK Nilam, the company said.
TTL said the performance reflected growing confidence among cargo owners in the terminal’s operational capabilities and its efforts to improve efficiency through digitalisation.
To manage higher traffic during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period in March, the company introduced measures to ensure smooth logistics flows, including optimizing terminal capacity, providing buffer areas for cargo vehicles and enhancing the readiness of its Terminal Booking System (TBS).
“To ensure smooth logistics flows throughout Eid al-Fitr and beyond, TTL optimized terminal capacity and ensured integrated cargo and vehicle management processes,” said Syaiful Anam, corporate secretary of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong.
The company also reported improved operational efficiency, with its effective time to berthing time (ET/BT) ratio reaching 86.85% in the first quarter, exceeding its 81% target. Domestic container vessels recorded an ET/BT ratio of 73.91%, slightly above the 73% target.
TTL said it remains optimistic about sustaining growth through 2026 as it strengthens its role as a key logistics hub in eastern Indonesia.
