The group operating three terminals in Tanjung Perak Port handled 1.2 million TEUs in January-May, supported by rising international shipments, stronger domestic cargo flows, operational improvements and expanding shipping connectivity across eastern Indonesia

The company processed 1,205,540 TEUs during the first five months of 2026, driven by stronger volumes at Teluk Lamong Container Terminal (TPK Teluk Lamong), TPK Nilam and TPK Berlian.

TPK Teluk Lamong posted the strongest growth, with throughput rising 25% year on year to 448,966 TEUs from 358,127 TEUs in the same period of 2025.

International container traffic at the terminal climbed 91% to 238,282 TEUs, supported by the handling of 15 ad hoc international container vessels between January and May. The increase reflects growing demand for the terminal’s services and expanded international shipping activity.

TPK Nilam handled 221,807 TEUs during the period, up 20% from 184,099 TEUs a year earlier. The increase was supported by the Express Anchorage Zone Service (EAZI) program, a collaboration between PT Terminal Teluk Lamong and the Tanjung Perak Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP), aimed at improving vessel movements from the anchorage area to the berth.

According to the company, the initiative shortened vessel waiting times, improved berth utilization and increased ship call frequency.

TPK Berlian recorded throughput of 534,767 TEUs, up 1% from 528,970 TEUs in the corresponding period last year, supported mainly by higher domestic container distribution to eastern Indonesia.

President Director David Pandapotan Sirait said the company’s performance reflected continued improvements in operational efficiency, digitalization, equipment reliability and customer service.

“Performance growth through May 2026 demonstrates that our operational strategy is on track,” Sirait said. “The increasing trust from international shipping companies encourages us to continue delivering reliable, efficient, safe and globally competitive terminal services.”

The company also strengthened its operational safety measures during the period through a safety improvement program introduced in March, including enhanced safety induction, compliance with minimum safety requirements and stricter terminal safety procedures.
