Terminal operator and importers association agreed to strengthen collaboration, improve communication, enhance truck traffic management through a booking system, and address operational issues to support more efficient logistics
PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) and the East Java Indonesian National Importers’ Association (GINSI) agreed to strengthen collaboration to improve port services and support smoother national logistics flows during a meeting held at the terminal on Tuesday.
The meeting brought together TTL President Director David Pandapotan Sirait, Terminal Head of TPK Teluk Lamong Pierre Rochel T, senior management, and GINSI East Java Chairwoman Hana Beladina Lutfifi, Secretary Warsidi, and other association representatives.

Discussions focused on recent developments in terminal services, operational challenges faced by importers, and opportunities to improve communication between the terminal operator and its users.
David said TTL continues to enhance customer experience through operational improvements, including the implementation of a Terminal Booking System (TBS) and the provision of a dedicated waiting area for trucks before container loading activities.
The terminal began the second phase of its TBS implementation in March 2026 to better manage truck arrival schedules and reduce congestion during peak operating periods.
“By prioritizing customer experience, TTL is implementing the second phase of the Terminal Booking System to help mitigate truck queues at the terminal. We have also provided a shelter area where trucks can wait before loading containers onto vessels,” David said.

Hana welcomed the company’s willingness to engage with service users and receive operational feedback.
She said the meeting would help GINSI members better understand the terminal’s ongoing operational improvements and service innovations.
During the discussion, GINSI members raised issues including vessel closing times, truck congestion during peak hours, container tracing, and access to vessel arrival information.
TTL management said the implementation of the Terminal Booking System has improved the distribution of truck arrivals and helped reduce congestion around the terminal. The company also encouraged GINSI to support outreach efforts to its members to promote wider adoption of the system and maximize its operational benefits.
