The implementation of non-stop service program usually named 24/7 service, needs concistency from all stakeholders, not only government or port operator, but also other port related business, a business observer and practioner has said.

Wisnu Waskita, a logistics  business observer and practioner appreciates the government concistency to contineously control the implementation of this program. As the report has said, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi has just visited Tanjung Priok Port to directly supervise weather this program has been consistently running.

“It needs concistency from any stakeholders. We apreciate the ministry to contineously care with this issue,” Wisnu said.

Wisnu affirmed there are some facilities within the port that has fully run this 24/7 program. “Facilities of container freight station (CFS) centre has adopted this program. We expect others to adopt it so the port can run in integrated.”

He said the CFS center that has been adopted this program absolutely helped the fluent flow of goods, especially the cargoes of less than container load (LCL).

This is in line with the spirit of Joko Widodo government to realize the vision to create logistics  efficiency to/from the port.

He explained that since November 2017 the Priok CFS center has begun its non stop service (24/7). “CFS Center Tanjung Priok has pioneered the adoption of this program and it has been integared with single billing system,” he said.

Furthermore, Wisnu explained, the Circular Letter of OP Tanjung Priok No UM.003/3/20/OP.Tpk/18 dated January 31, 2018 has obliged to run this program at this port.

“This program is not only addressed to importation but also for export activities,” he said.

Wisnu also noted that the 24/7 service program is also in line with the concept of integrated port network the government has initiated in a bid to improve the national product competitiveness and to cut the logistics cost.

“We totally support the Tanjung Prio 24/7 service program. We call support from any parties,” said Wisnu.

To Trigger Export

On the meeting with port stakeholders at Tanjung Priok Customs Office (KPU Tanjung Priok) on Sunday, July 7, Minister Budi Karya also underlined that the program of 24/7 at Tanjung Priok is also meant to trigger export.
