PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (JAI/IPCM) will invest as much as Rp 90.53 billion to build one tugboat and three pilot boats. This PT Pelabuhan Indonesia subsidiary and public listed company – well known as IPC Marine – has just signed two agreements with two shipbuilders.
The first agreement is the construction of one unit of 2 x 2,200 horse power (HP) tugboat Azimut Stern Driven (ASD) Type with PT Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyards. The second is agreement for the construction of three 2 x 300 HP Type Outboard Engine pilot boats with PT Yasa Wahana Tirta Samudera Shipyard (Samudera Shipyard) and PT Constrine Jaya Group, a partnership/KSO company.
The signing ceremony was attended by JAI Director of Fleet and Operations M. Iqbal, Director of PT Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyard Jan Anindhitya; President Director of PT Samudera Shipyard Mustofa, and President Director of PT Constrine Jaya Group Agung Pambudi.
This agreement stipulates the implementation of the work of one tugboat unit with an investment value of Rp 68.9 billion. In addition, another agreement stipulates the implementation of the construction work of three pilot ships with an investment value of Rp 21.63 billion for the three, creating a total of Rp 90.53 billion.
“This investment is a manifestation of IPCM’s (JAI) commitment to managing the use of IPO proceeds. We know that IPCM’s business in towage and pilotage is a ship service to help navigate ships when they enter or leave the dock using a tugboat,” Iqbal said in statement late last week (Friday, December 31, 2021).
IPCM management expects the contractor to work professionally and with integrity and is committed to completing the project on time and maintaining the quality of work without any gratification to IPCM personnel.
The construction of these four vessels is expected to further support smooth operations and strengthen IPCM’s fleet in providing optimal services to service users as well as IPCM’s future business expansion.
