Terminal Teluk Lamong Adds New Services as VASI Shipping Opens Direct Call

Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) handles VASI Shipping Line direct call from Surabaya to India and Middle East. Agent by PT MAP Trans Logistic, the VASI Shipping deployed MV. Asterios, a 1,300 TEUs containership, for its maiden call to TTL on December 11, 2023.

This service, according to Dhany Novianto, Country Head of PT MAP Trans Logistic, would call every two weeks and route Surabaya – Jakarta – Port Klang Malaysia – Nhava Sheva – Jebel – Dammam. ”For a while, we call at TTL every two weeks,” Dhany said.

This direct service, according to Dhany, would minimize transit times and improve connectivity, thus creating a more efficient delivery among the countries.

Mr. Prafulla Kumar Jha, Managing Director at PT MAP Trans Logistic, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to be the exclusive general agent for VASI Shipping, and this collaboration allows us to offer a direct shipping service from Surabaya to India and the Middle East. In her maiden call, MV. Asterios loaded more than 1,200 TEUs containerized cargoes. “Hopefully we can maintain it, so every two weeks we will load more than 1,200 TEUs export cargoes from TTL through this service,” David said

David explained that one strategy to increase customer confidence, TTL is intensively communicating with shipping companies to open new routes. In view of service side, TTL was also trying to increase service speed by optimizing the loading and unloading process.

“This new service is one of the achievements at the end of 2023 and is also a beautiful gift for TTL 10th anniversary on December 30,” added David.
