ILCS Drives Coastal Sustainability with ‘Blue & Green’ Program in Makassar

PT Integrasi Logistik Cipta Solusi (ILCS), a subsidiary of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), has launched a community-focused environmental initiative aimed at improving waste management and coastal sustainability in Tallo Village, near the strategic port area of Makassar.

Branded as ILCS Blue & Green, the program is part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) efforts, targeting long-term improvements to the health of coastal ecosystems while supporting local livelihoods.

Working in partnership with community-based organizations such as the Rajata Tallo and Maggot Tallo Waste Banks, ILCS is providing education and resources to help residents manage waste more effectively. The initiative includes the distribution of three-wheeled waste-collection vehicles and the installation of electricity networks to bolster operations in the area.

“The Makassar coastline is a vital gateway for Eastern Indonesia’s shipping lanes,” said Dimas Giri Prabowo, Corporate Secretary of PT ILCS. “This program is a tangible step in our commitment to building sustainable port ecosystems, empowering communities, and advancing the circular economy.”

ILCS says that modern port management now requires a balance between infrastructure development, digitalization, and environmental stewardship. The Blue & Green program aims to reduce marine pollution, enhance coastal resilience, and prepare local communities, especially small-scale fishers—for the broader impacts of climate change.
