IPCC Posts 14.3% Growth on Strong Trade, Satellite Terminal Expansion

PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal Tbk (IDX: IPCC), a state-linked automotive terminal operator, reported a 14.3% year-on-year increase in cargo volume through August 2025, supported by rising vehicle import-export activity and expanding satellite terminal operations.

The company handled 767,387 units of vehicle cargo, including completely built-up (CBU) vehicles, buses, trucks, and heavy equipment, during the January – August period, up from 671,206 units in the same period last year.

Ship calls also rose sharply, reaching 2,250 units, a 21.4% increase year-on-year, according to Corporate Secretary Endah Dwi Liesly.

“This growth reflects stronger automotive trade flows in and out of Indonesia, as well as the contribution of our expanding satellite terminal network,” Endah said in a statement on Monday.

Heavy Equipment and Strategic Projects

The volume of heavy equipment handled jumped 30.7% to 21,415 units, up by more than 5,000 units compared to the same period last year. The surge was driven by ongoing National Strategic Projects (PSN), including the development of the new capital city Nusantara (IKN), downstream mining initiatives, and the government’s food estate program in eastern Indonesia.

The Semayang Satellite Terminal in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, recorded the highest throughput for heavy equipment, with 4,536 units handled. The terminal also led in truck and bus cargo, processing 35,734 units through August.

Company-wide, truck and bus cargo volumes rose 40.1% year-on-year to 148,101 units, supported by a fleet revitalization push among domestic transport operators and public investment in energy and agriculture logistics.

CBU and Electric Vehicle Growth

IPCC’s CBU cargo handling also posted solid growth, with 597,871 units moved through August—an increase of 8.8% from the previous year.

Electric vehicles are beginning to make a measurable impact. Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 8.2% of the CBU volume, or 48,739 units, reflecting rising consumer demand and government efforts to build an EV-friendly ecosystem aligned with Indonesia’s net-zero emission targets for 2060.
