PROPER is an annual initiative by the Ministry that evaluates corporate environmental performance—not just based on regulatory compliance, but on efforts that go beyond minimum standards.

The “Blue” rating reflects full compliance with key environmental regulations, covering areas such as water, air, and marine pollution control, hazardous waste (B3) management, land conservation, and adherence to Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) guidelines.

Minister Hanif emphasized that PROPER is more than just an assessment tool—it plays a vital role in encouraging corporate innovation, strengthening environmental governance, and promoting transparency.

“Sustainable environmental management is the foundation of environmentally conscious economic growth,” he said. “PROPER reflects our collective effort to integrate sustainability into national development.”

Executive Director of Pelindo Regional 4, Abdul Azis, expressed pride in the achievement, attributing it to the dedication and collaborative effort of the entire Regional 4 team.

“This award reflects our commitment to responsible environmental practices. At Pelindo, we believe that sustainable port operations are crucial to building a competitive national logistics sector.”

Azis added that Pelindo Regional 4 remains committed to expanding its environmental initiatives. Future plans include improving waste management systems, increasing energy efficiency, conserving water, adopting renewable energy sources, and enhancing social and environmental responsibility programs focused on community empowerment.

Each year, PROPER evaluates thousands of companies across various industries based on key indicators such as compliance with environmental laws, resource efficiency, emissions reduction, biodiversity protection, and community engagement. The rating system includes five tiers: Gold, Green, Blue, Red, and Black.
