In today’s fast-changing work environment, employee well-being is essential for driving peak performance. Recognizing this, PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) in the multipurpose sector, remains committed to transforming its human resources (HR).
The company focuses on fostering a positive, collaborative work culture while implementing strategies that enhance efficiency without compromising employee welfare.
Edi Priyanto, HR Director of Pelindo Multi Terminal, highlights the importance of striking a balance between employee welfare and company productivity.
“Employee welfare and company productivity are not opposing forces; they complement one another. We believe that fostering a healthy work environment results in a more productive, innovative, and motivated team,” said Edi.
Edi further explained the company’s strategy, which revolves around three key pillars: First, promoting a work culture that encourages work-life balance, enabling employees to perform at their best without sacrificing their mental or physical health.
Second, offering comprehensive welfare programs that include career development and competency improvement. Third, encouraging open and inclusive communication, ensuring that every employee feels valued and supported in their growth.
As part of its ongoing transformation, SPMT continues to advocate for employee well-being programs that not only improve the quality of life for its workforce but also contribute to long-term business sustainability.
“The implementation of employee welfare programs is an essential part of Pelindo Multi Terminal’s efforts to standardize service excellence and drive port transformation, where HR plays a pivotal role as one of the six foundational pillars,” Edi added.
This HR transformation is in line with initiatives led by the Ministry of SOEs, which stresses talent development as the cornerstone of sustainable business growth.
Edi shared these insights during the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) TALK 2025, a strategic forum held at Grha Pelindo in Medan. The hybrid event, which took place on Wednesday, March 12, was attended by Pelindo Multi Terminal personnel from across Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara.
The CHRO TALK 2025 event was well-received by participants, who viewed it as a key step toward fostering a healthier and more productive work culture. One of the participants, Auriga, VP of Non-Operational Risk at Pelindo Multi Terminal, expressed his gratitude for the insightful content shared during the event.
“Thank you for the incredible and insightful material. The content presented at this event is extremely relevant, and it has opened up new perspectives for me and all of us,” he said.
The participants also appreciated the event for its focus on how companies can strategically and sustainably support their employees.
Through CHRO TALK 2025, SPMT aims to inspire its workforce to continue implementing best practices that enhance both employee well-being and overall productivity.
