Terminal Teluk Lamong Steps up Digital Transformation to Boost Logistics Efficiency

PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) on Tuesday inaugurated its Integrated Planning & Control facility and a Green Shelter Waiting Area, marking a further push to modernise port operations and improve service reliability at one of East Java’s key logistics hubs.

The launch was attended by East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, who praised the terminal’s continued investment in innovation and digitalisation, saying it supported broader efforts to strengthen the province’s logistics ecosystem.

“The development of facilities and the strengthening of operational systems at Terminal Teluk Lamong reflect a commitment to transforming port services into modern and efficient operations,” Dardak said. “This is crucial to supporting logistics growth and competitiveness in East Java.”

The event also drew representatives from the logistics and shipping industry, including leaders from the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI/ILFA), and the East Java Logindo Club, underscoring the role of collaboration between state-owned enterprises, industry players and local government.

TTL President Director David Pandapotan Sirait said the new facilities were part of the company’s long-term transformation agenda under the Pelindo Group, Indonesia’s state-owned port operator.

“The Integrated Planning & Control system and the Green Shelter Waiting Area are designed to improve operational efficiency, service quality and reliability for customers,” David said.

“Through consistent transformation and stronger collaboration, we believe Terminal Teluk Lamong can contribute to greater national logistics efficiency.”

The Integrated Planning & Control facility centralises planning and operational control for both container and dry bulk services. It integrates ship arrival scheduling, equipment and workforce planning, yard management, cargo handling operations, internal traffic control and occupational health and safety monitoring.

Separately, the Green Shelter Waiting Area is intended to enhance comfort and safety for drivers and service users while supporting the terminal’s sustainability goals.

Christin Adni, chair of the East Java Logindo Club, said infrastructure upgrades must be matched by continuous improvements in human resources to keep pace with technological change.

“Alongside better facilities, it is important to strengthen employee competencies and service culture to ensure customers receive the best possible service,” she said.
