INSA Jaya Sets June 18 RAC for 2026-2031 Chairman

Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association Chapter Jakarta (INSA Jaya) will hold its Member Meeting (RAC) on June 18 to elect a new chairman for the 2026–2031 term, as the organization prepares for a leadership transition amid evolving challenges in Indonesia’s shipping sector.

The RAC, the highest decision-making forum at branch level under the organization’s Statute (AD/ART) for 2023–2028, is held every five years and serves as a platform for members to determine the future direction of the association.

Ahead of the assembly, INSA Jaya’s current leadership established an Organizing Committee and Steering Committee to oversee preparations and ensure the election process complies with organizational regulations.

The Organizing Committee is chaired by Arwan Selmianto, while the Steering Committee is led by M. Jufri Hadrianto. The committees were formed during a management meeting attended by members of the 2022–2026 board in May.

The association said the meeting is expected to strengthen member participation and generate ideas to support the development of Indonesia’s shipping industry, particularly in the Jakarta metropolitan area and surrounding maritime hubs.

Registration for candidates seeking the chairmanship will open from June 8 to June 12. The registration and verification process will be conducted in accordance with the association’s AD/ART and election procedures established by the Steering Committee.

Candidates must be Indonesian citizens representing active member companies and hold positions such as commissioner, director, manager, or branch head. They are also required to have prior experience within the INSA Jaya management structure, including service as a chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, treasurer, or division head in either the current or previous board term.

Additional requirements include being at least 30 years old, residing in the Greater Jakarta area, and not currently holding leadership positions in other maritime-related organizations.

INSA Jaya said the criteria are intended to ensure that candidates possess sufficient organizational experience and industry knowledge to lead the association through a period of increasing competition and transformation in the shipping sector.

The organization expects the June assembly to produce leadership capable of strengthening the role of INSA Jaya in supporting national shipping activities, including operations at Tanjung Priok, Marunda and Kepulauan Seribu.
