Indonesian marine services company PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim (PSM) marked its first ship undocking of 2026 on Friday, returning the Indonesian Navy vessel KRI Tanjung Kambani to the water after a month of repair work at its Jakarta I Shipyard in Ancol.
The milestone signals the start of a series of ship repair and maintenance projects planned at the shipyard throughout the year. Undocking is the process of moving a vessel back into the water after maintenance and repair activities are completed.
The KRI Tanjung Kambani, a BAP-type personnel and vehicle transport vessel measuring 114.5 metres in length and 19.8 metres in breadth, with a deadweight tonnage of 6,165 tonnes, underwent hull cleaning and scraping, blasting and painting, ultrasonic testing on selected sections, repairs to its controllable pitch propeller and bow thruster, and anchor chain maintenance.
“Undocking this vessel marks the beginning of our 2026 ship repair activities,” PSM Commercial and Operations Director Nurhadi said.
“Three vessels were docked at our shipyard in January, and two more are scheduled to arrive in February.”
Nurhadi added that the company aims to complete maintenance and repairs on at least 40 vessels this year, totaling 33,817 gross tonnes, both at its own shipyards and those operated by partners.
PSM said it is focused on expanding core operations, diversifying services in shipyard and dredging sectors, and optimising performance to support Indonesia’s maritime ecosystem, in line with its goal of becoming a professional, world-class marine engineering services provider.
