PTP Nonpetikemas Jambi Expands Cement Handling, Boosts Distribution Capacity

PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) Jambi has strengthened its cement handling operations through a collaboration with PT Cemindo Gemilang Tbk at Talang Duku Port, aiming to improve regional logistics efficiency and supply stability.

The partnership, which has been in place since January 2020, focuses on unloading jumbo bag cement and supporting direct truck-loading operations to Cemindo Gemilang’s warehouse. The companies say the system is designed to speed up distribution and reduce handling time.

Branch Manager of PTP Nonpetikemas Jambi, Romi Hasbeni, said the collaboration supports industrial growth in the region by improving logistics flow and distribution efficiency.

“We are committed to supporting growing industrial activities in Jambi. This collaboration is expected to improve distribution efficiency and accelerate logistics processes, strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial sector,” Romi said.

The facility is capable of handling up to 360,000 tons of cement annually through truck-loading operations, according to the company. Since operations began, total throughput has reached around 1.8 million tons, averaging about 30,000 tons per month, it said.

PT Cemindo Gemilang Tbk, known for its “Semen Merah Putih” brand, is one of Indonesia’s cement producers and continues to use the port facility for its distribution activities in the region.

PTP Nonpetikemas said the Jambi branch operates as part of its non-container terminal network, providing services for dry bulk, liquid bulk, and general cargo, including coal, palm kernel, crude palm oil (CPO), and heavy equipment.

The company also highlighted its focus on health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards in its operations.
