The new service that has begun operations in the second quarter of 2026 would on a route connecting Nagoya and Kobe in Japan with Busan in South Korea.

Samudera said the expansion forms part of its strategy to broaden logistics connectivity in Asia and enhance service offerings for customers engaged in international trade.

“Through services in East Asia, Samudera is optimistic it can support the growth and dynamics of international trade on a broader and more sustainable scale,” the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The launch follows Samudera’s recent introduction of a weekly shipping service connecting Kuala Tanjung Port in North Sumatra with Singapore and Penang, Malaysia.

The company said the route was designed to improve export and import efficiency by providing direct access through Kuala Tanjung, while strengthening Indonesia’s logistics links with regional and global markets.

“With a weekly schedule, this route is expected to increase the efficiency of export and import shipments through direct access via Kuala Tanjung,” the company said.
