Indonesian state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), known as Pelindo, on Wednesday reviewed its 2025 performance and outlined strategic priorities for 2026 at an annual year-end reflection event in Makassar.
The “2025 Year-End Reflection and Welcoming New Hopes for 2026” drew Pelindo’s Board of Commissioners, Board of Directors, management teams, and container terminal managers through a hybrid format, alongside port service users, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
The event highlighted Pelindo’s ongoing efforts to build an integrated, digitally driven, and globally competitive port ecosystem.
President Director Arif Suhartono, in his opening remarks, described 2025 as a pivotal year in Pelindo’s post-merger transformation. He emphasized the importance of standardizing services, integrating systems, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a work culture centered on safety, integrity, and service excellence.
“Year-end reflection is not just about looking back, but about ensuring every lesson from 2025 becomes a foundation for 2026,” Arif said.
“Pelindo must remain adaptive, innovative, and collaborative to meet global dynamics and the evolving needs of our service users.”
Arif stressed that human resources are central to transformation, with success measured not only through operational and financial metrics but also by social impact, public trust, and robust corporate governance.
In line with this commitment, Pelindo incorporated Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiatives into the event. Programs included renovating an orphanage and providing assistance to local orphans, reflecting the company’s dedication to supporting communities near port operations.
The reflection event also included a communal prayer, symbolizing gratitude for 2025 achievements and seeking guidance for smooth operations in 2026. The spiritual moment echoed Pelindo’s long-standing emphasis on values as a state-owned enterprise with national strategic responsibilities.

A major highlight was a demonstration of the Makassar New Port (MNP) Remote Planning and Control (PnC) system. Participants observed technology-driven operational planning and monitoring processes at one of Indonesia’s national strategic ports, underscoring Pelindo’s push toward digitalization to improve efficiency, transparency, and reliability.
The forum also facilitated discussions with Pelindo’s container terminals across the country via hybrid participation. The session promoted the sharing of best practices, alignment of operational strategies, and collaboration with stakeholders to address both national and global logistics challenges.
Abdul Azis, Pelindo Regional 4 Executive Director, highlighted Makassar’s strategic role in supporting Eastern Indonesia’s logistics connectivity. “Synergy between Pelindo, service users, and stakeholders is key to maintaining smooth and sustainable port operations,” he said, emphasizing that transformation extends beyond infrastructure to systems, processes, and an adaptive work culture.
The event concluded with a Leadership Talk, fostering dialogue between staff and executives on human resource development, integrity, collaboration, and innovation for the year ahead.
A closing evening session reinforced solidarity within the Pelindo Group, with leaders and staff celebrating shared achievements and looking toward 2026 with optimism. The gathering underscored Pelindo’s pledge to sustainable growth, competitive port services, and long-term value creation for communities and the national economy.
As Indonesia navigates growing global trade demands, Pelindo’s 2025 initiatives position the company to maintain efficiency and competitiveness, providing a strong foundation for 2026 and beyond.
