Farid Belbouab, CEO of Meratus, highlighted the importance of the acquisition in driving business growth, stating, “The acquisition of IJP, known for its focus on efficient port management through PT PBM Olah Jasa Andal (OJA), is expected to create synergies in our Terminal Nusantara project, contributing to the nation’s economic growth.”

The Terminal Nusantara project, overseen by Meratus, manages two domestic terminals in Jakarta and Surabaya with a combined capacity of 1 million TEUs. Recent data shows a positive trend in throughput rates, with a 13% increase recorded in December 2023 compared to the previous year.

A key aspect of the IJP acquisition is its strategic location in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, which offers convenient land traffic access points and robust infrastructure. Covering an area of 8.2 hectares, IJP’s operations include a wharf capacity of 600 meters.

In addition to bolstering connectivity and logistics infrastructure, the acquisition is expected to deliver innovative solutions for Meratus’ customers through seamless business integration with logistics via MGLog and Container Logistic Center (CLC).

Meratus’ commitment to providing technology-based services for shipping and logistics connectivity aligns with its strategy to address evolving business challenges and enhance competitiveness in the maritime and logistics industry.
