Indonesia’s leading logistics company Indonesia PT Arrow Chain Management Logistics (ACM Logistics/ACML) has complied with logistics certificate, supporting the company to become more and more dominant player in the world’s biggest Muslim country.
For ACM Logistics, this halal certificate will encourage it to develop and expand its halal logistics service, the service that has massively expanded in the last years.
ACML Corporate Secretary Nur Hasanah said: “The halal certification that has been obtained is a form of company compliance with applicable regulations. In addition, it is also an effort to meet customer demand, especially in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector, which requires end-to-end guarantees of product halal security throughout the supply chain, including the product distribution process.
“The majority of ACML’s customers are FMCG companies,” Nur Hasanah added.
Halal logistics is the process of handling the flow of materials or products through the supply chain in accordance with halal standards, so that they are free from impurities that can contaminate halal materials/products. The scope includes storage, distribution and packaging.
Halal certification for logistics services is a guarantee that halal products remain halal during the transportation, storage and distribution process.
Based on Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 39 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Sector, logistics services are included in one of the services that need to be halal certified before October 17, 2024 because they are closely related to the distribution process of products such as food, beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and others.
Nur Hasanah said that halal certification is a form of company compliance with applicable regulations. In addition, this is an effort by her party to provide a guarantee of halal products to partners who use their services, which then has an impact on the comfort of the Muslim community in consuming products.
