PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI), a leading player in the shipping industry, has announced the acquisition of an oil tanker through its business unit, PT Hutama Trans Kontinental (Matrako). The purchase of the MT Anargya I is a key strategic move to expand the company’s fleet and support its growing presence in the energy sector.
This acquisition is expected to reinforce Humpuss Maritim’s position in the shipping and logistics industry, addressing the increasing demand for oil transportation services in the region.
The newly acquired oil tanker, MT Anargya I, has a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 7,063.5 metric tons. It is equipped with advanced features designed to support sustainable operations and meet diverse transportation needs. The tanker will help HUMI expand its oil transportation solutions, particularly for clients in the energy sector.
Tirta Hidayat, President Director of Humpuss Maritim Internasional (HUMI), stated that the acquisition is part of a broader plan to increase the company’s assets in 2024 and strengthen its services in the energy transportation sector.
“This acquisition reflects our commitment to improving operational efficiency, meeting customer demands, and supporting the growth of Indonesia’s energy industry,” said Hidayat in a statement on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
The acquisition of the MT Anargya I is part of HUMI’s ongoing investment program focused on rejuvenating its fleet and meeting the highest sustainability and safety standards. The company is committed to maintaining its Plan Maintenance System (PMS) to ensure efficient operations and uphold customer trust, ultimately positioning itself for new business opportunities and collaborations in the energy transport sector.
Under Pertamina Contract
The MT Anargya I is equipped with a specialized epoxy-coated cargo tank and three pumps, allowing for the simultaneous transport of up to three types of cargo. In addition, the tanker is fitted with a heating coil, enabling it to handle a variety of liquid cargo, including palm oil products such as Crude Palm Oil (CPO), olein, and palm stearin.
Currently, MT Anargya I is under contract with PT Pertamina International Shipping, ensuring immediate and full commercial utilization of the vessel. With the addition of the MT Anargya I to its fleet,
