Indonesia’s export value in November 2024 totaled USD 24.01 billion, marking a 1.70% decrease month-on-month, compared to October 2024 , according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Acting Head of BPS, explained that the drop in exports was mainly due to a decline in non-oil and gas exports, which fell by 1.67% month-on-month, totaling USD 22.69 billion.
Oil and gas exports also saw a decrease, amounting to USD 1.32 billion, a 2.10% drop compared to the previous month.
Amalia further highlighted that all sectors within non-oil and gas exports experienced a contraction. The processing industry was the hardest hit, with a 0.92% decline, contributing to an overall 0.70% reduction. The decline was particularly noticeable in exports of palm oil, copper, and motor vehicles.
On a more positive note, Indonesia’s exports showed a 9.14% year-on-year increase compared to November 2023, signaling growth despite the monthly dip.
Cumulatively, Indonesia’s exports from January to November 2024 totaled USD 241.25 billion, reflecting a 2.06% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
