Pelindo, Hubla Sign MoU on Sea Transportation Services

State port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) and the Directorate General of Sea Transportation (Ditjen Hubla) at the Ministry of Transportation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Implementation of Services in the Shipping Sector.

The signing took place on Wednesday, February 13th, at the Ministry of Transportation office in Jakarta.

This MoU covers several strategic aspects of port sector management, including the operation of navigation facilities, ship guidance and towing services, the integration of port information systems, and the development of the Green Port concept.

The MoU represents a strategic step toward enhancing services in the shipping sector, with a focus on improving safety, security, and operational efficiency at ports.

On his remark speech, Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi, Director General of Sea Transportation, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in developing policies that support ease of doing business in the maritime sector.

“As regulators, we must consider what policies need to be implemented and what initiatives port service providers can adopt to facilitate business,” said Capt. Antoni.

Pelindo’s President Director, Arif Suhartono, also commented on the strategic goal behind the MoU, expressing that it aims to advance the national maritime sector through comprehensive developments across the integrated service system.

“Through synergy between regulators and operators, we aim to create a more integrated, transparent, and accountable service system that contributes to the growth of the national maritime sector,” said Arif.

Additionally, Arif highlighted that the collaboration and agreements within the sea transportation sector are expected to foster maritime-based economic growth, benefiting the entire port ecosystem.
