PT Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok welcomed a Japanese delegation from the Yokohama Port Authority (YPA) and Eastern Car Liner Ltd. (ECL) on Tuesday, July 15, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.
The delegation, consisting of nine senior representatives from the City of Yokohama and Tokyo-based ECL, was received at the Indonesian Maritime Museum by Pelindo Priok’s Senior Commercial Manager Chandra Irawan and Commercial Manager Gerry Guardiano. The visit marked a follow-up to an earlier meeting held on June 23.
During the courtesy call, delegates toured the maritime museum, gaining insights into the historical evolution of Indonesia’s port system. A presentation by Irawan highlighted recent developments and operational updates at Tanjung Priok Port — Indonesia’s largest and busiest seaport.
The Japanese team later visited PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal (IKT), the dedicated car terminal at Tanjung Priok, where they observed port infrastructure and logistics operations firsthand.
According to Pelindo officials, the visit aimed to identify potential areas of cooperation, particularly in enhancing port infrastructure, streamlining operations, and exchanging best practices for sustainable port development.
Discussions also touched on shared ambitions to improve global supply chain resilience and support the transition toward environmentally sustainable port systems.
Officials from both sides expressed optimism that the dialogue could pave the way for deeper bilateral ties in maritime logistics and infrastructure development.
