Indonesian state-owned logistics firm PT Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s Zheyin Business Services (Hangzhou) Company Limited on Monday, marking a step toward potential future collaboration in Indonesia’s growing logistics sector.
The agreement was signed during a formal visit by a Chinese delegation to MTI’s headquarters at Pelindo Tower in North Jakarta. The delegation included officials from Zheyin Business Services and its strategic partner, the Hangzhou Qiantang Center for Contemporary Internationalization Studies (QT-CCIS).
MTI’s Acting President Director Adi Sugiri hosted the meeting, alongside Director of Finance, Human Resources and Risk Management Budi Azmi, and Corporate Secretary Sucahyo. Representing the Chinese delegation were QT-CCIS Director Teng Ling Jian, General Manager of Zheyin Business Services John Halim, Deputy General Manager Lucy Mirta, and QT-CCIS representative Pan Jian Ying.
“We are open and eager to collaborate with international partners looking to strengthen logistics networks in Indonesia,” Sugiri said in opening remarks, emphasizing MTI’s strategic role in the country’s port and logistics ecosystem.
Teng Ling Jian, speaking on behalf of the Chinese delegation, thanked MTI for the warm reception and the opportunity to explore its facilities and business operations. “We are pleased to witness firsthand the scale and capability of MTI’s infrastructure,” he said.
The visit included a series of presentations by both parties, followed by a field tour of MTI’s key operational sites in Jakarta. Among the stops were the Logistics Control Tower, Pasoso Terminal, Field 215X, the Banda CDC warehouse, and a state-of-the-art cold storage facility.
The signing ceremony, held on the 11th floor of Pelindo Tower, formalized both sides’ interest in exploring joint logistics initiatives in Indonesia, with a focus on enhancing supply chain efficiency and connectivity.
The event concluded with a group photo, symbolizing the beginning of what both parties hope will be a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership.
