SPJM Signs Strategic Partnership With Denmark’s NORDEN

PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM), a subholding of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Danish shipping firm Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S (NORDEN), the company said.

The agreement, signed on Feb. 25, covers the provision of pilotage and towage services for vessels commercially operated by NORDEN within Pelindo Group’s service areas across Indonesia. The services will apply to various vessel types, including tankers, dry bulk carriers and ships deployed for special projects.

The signing ceremony was attended by SPJM President Director Arief Prabowo and NORDEN’s Head of Dry Operations Asia, Steffen Christian Lie.

Under the agreement, SPJM will provide tugboats and certified marine pilots in accordance with Indonesian regulations to ensure safe and timely vessel movements, including berthing and departure operations.

“The appointment of SPJM as a provider of pilotage and towage services by NORDEN demonstrates international confidence in the quality of our maritime services,” Arief said in a statement, adding that the company is committed to ensuring safe, professional and punctual operations.

Both companies said the partnership includes commitments to compliance with applicable laws and a zero-tolerance policy toward bribery and corruption. The agreement also requires adherence to international occupational safety, health and environmental standards.

SPJM operates in marine services, port equipment, port services, dredging and shipyard operations. The company said the partnership supports its 2026 expansion strategy focused on service quality and strengthening Indonesia’s maritime logistics network.
