PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Nonpetikemas (PTP Nonpetikemas) said it will maintain full port operations throughout the Ramadan period and the Eid al-Fitr holiday to ensure the smooth flow of goods and support Indonesia’s national logistics supply chain.
The company, part of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), operates non-container terminals that handle liquid bulk, dry bulk and general cargo across multiple ports in Indonesia.
Dwi Rahmad Toto S., Director of Commercial and Business Development and Acting Director of Operations at PTP Nonpetikemas, said port activities will continue around the clock during Ramadan and the Eid period.
“Port operations within the PTP Nonpetikemas network will continue to run optimally 24 hours a day during Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holidays,” Toto said.
“Loading and unloading activities will continue to ensure the steady flow of goods and maintain national logistics distribution.”
The company said it has prepared manpower, operational equipment and support systems across its network of 11 ports to ensure services run smoothly. All terminals operate under a 24-hour work system to support cargo handling, receiving and delivery activities in line with operational service standards.
PTP Nonpetikemas expects logistics activity to increase ahead of and after the Eid holiday period, particularly during freight traffic regulation periods. The company said it is strengthening coordination with port authorities, security agencies and logistics partners to anticipate higher operational demand.
Two of its branches, Banten and Panjang, will also play a key role in supporting both logistics distribution and holiday travel flows.
The Banten branch, operating at Ciwandan Port in Cilegon, has been used as an alternative crossing route for motorcycles and logistics trucks traveling to Sumatra since March 11, 2026. The port has prepared infrastructure including three roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) piers and vehicle buffer areas to help ease congestion at Port of Merak.
Meanwhile, the Panjang branch in Lampung serves as a key logistics hub for Sumatra and is also being prepared as an alternative route for motorcycle travelers from Jakarta during the holiday period. The port continues to support the distribution of strategic commodities through its piers, storage yards and 24-hour operational facilities.
Freight traffic during the Eid period will also be affected by a government regulation restricting certain freight transport operations.
Under a decree issued by the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, freight transportation restrictions will be implemented from March 13 to March 29, 2026. The policy prioritizes the movement of essential goods such as fuel, livestock, fertilizer, disaster relief supplies and other basic necessities.
Safety First
Fiona Sari Utami, senior manager of corporate secretary at PTP Nonpetikemas, said the company is also emphasizing occupational safety and strict adherence to operational procedures.
“Smooth port operations require strong coordination with all stakeholders,” Fiona said. “We continue to strengthen collaboration to ensure effective traffic management and port activities during the Eid holiday period.”
PTP Nonpetikemas operates non-container terminals in 11 Indonesian ports, including Tanjung Priok, Banten, Cirebon, Panjang, Bengkulu, Palembang, Jambi, Teluk Bayur, Tanjung Pandan, Pangkal Balam and Pontianak, handling liquid bulk, dry bulk and general cargo.
