JICT Ramadan Sharing Program Supports Orphans, Prayer Rooms, TKBM

Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) distributed aids to hundreds of orphans, underprivileged families and port workers (TKBM) in North Jakarta ahead of Eid al-Fitr, the company said on Friday.

The port operator provided aid packages to 400 orphans and disadvantaged children in Koja district, while also donating equipment to 30 prayer rooms in the area, including water dispensers to support community worship activities.

JICT President Director Ade Hartono said the initiative was part of the company’s effort to support communities living around the port.

“The port is not only a center of logistics and trade activities, but also an integral part of the lives of surrounding communities,” Ade said in North Jakarta.

“Through this program, we want to share happiness with orphans and those in need while supporting community worship facilities ahead of Eid al-Fitr.”

In addition to assistance for children and local prayer rooms, JICT distributed 396 basic food packages to stevedoring workers, known locally as TKBM, who support cargo handling operations at the port.

The food packages were given as a token of appreciation for dockworkers who form part of the logistics ecosystem at Tanjung Priok Port.

The distribution program involved community leaders and neighborhood representatives from several local administrative units in Koja district.

JICT operates the international container terminal at Tanjung Priok, one of Indonesia’s busiest logistics hubs and a key gateway for the country’s international trade.

The terminal is located near densely populated coastal communities surrounding the port’s operational area.

Ade said the company aims to ensure its presence delivers not only economic value but also social benefits for nearby residents.
