State ferry operator ASDP Indonesia Ferry will provide fare discounts on seven strategic routes during the school holiday period, supporting mobility, tourism and economic activity across Indonesia
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) will offer ferry fare discounts on several strategic routes during the 2026 school holiday season, supporting a government stimulus program aimed at boosting mobility and domestic economic activity.
Under the policy, passengers will receive a 100% discount on port service charges, equivalent to an average reduction of 21.9% of the total ferry ticket price. The program applies to departures scheduled between June 20 and July 5, while ticket bookings opened on June 6.
ASDP President Director Heru Widodo said the initiative reflects the company’s support for government efforts to maintain household purchasing power and improve inter-regional connectivity during the holiday period.
“ASDP fully supports the government’s stimulus program to increase public mobility and encourage economic activity. We hope this policy enables people to travel more comfortably, safely and affordably during the school holiday season,” Heru said.
The discount program is based on a directive issued by the Directorate General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation regarding the implementation of crossing fare incentives during the 2026 school holiday period.
The stimulus applies at 14 ports serving seven strategic ferry routes: Merak–Bakauheni, Ketapang–Gilimanuk, Lembar–Padangbai, Kayangan–Poto Tano, Tanjung Uban–Telaga Punggur, Ajibata–Ambarita and Sape–Labuan Bajo.
The policy covers pedestrian passengers as well as Class II and Class IVA vehicles, with the aim of supporting travel and economic activity between regions.
For the Merak–Bakauheni crossing, the fare incentive applies to both regular economy and express ferry services, offering additional savings on one of Indonesia’s busiest transportation corridors.
Windy Andale, ASDP’s Corporate Secretary, said all ticket purchases must be made digitally through the Ferizy platform to ensure a more efficient and orderly travel process.
“In line with the implementation of electronic ticketing, we encourage customers to make reservations well before departure. Early planning helps passengers secure their preferred schedules while avoiding congestion during peak holiday periods,” Windy said.
She also reminded passengers to purchase tickets before arriving at the port to facilitate smoother boarding and reduce terminal congestion.
ASDP said passengers seeking additional information on the discount program can access updates and service information through the company’s official communication channels.
As Indonesia’s largest ferry operator, ASDP said it remains committed to supporting government initiatives that strengthen national connectivity, facilitate the movement of people and goods, and expand access to affordable transportation services across the archipelago.
