For this partnership plan, PTP Direction Board recently (Tuesday, July 27) conducted a visit to KBS. The two parties, represented directly by their top executive leaders of PTP President Director Drajat Sulistyo and KBS President Director Akbar Djohan, made a bilateral talk, including the opportunities for partnership.

The partnership seems very probable as the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has called for synergy among the SOEs and their subsidiaries. Both PTP and KBS are SOE subsidiaries.

“This meeting is expected to be an initial step for our synergy. PTP Multipurpose is very probable to build synergy Krakatau International Port, giving mutual benefits to both parties,” Drajat said.

For PTP, building synergy with KBS is very strategic since the two parties have similar business entities.

As a multipurpose terminal, PTP is running some services of stevedoring, cargodoring, receiving/delivery, storage, warehousing, and port equipment rent. KBS is also running similar services, including marine service, stevedoring, logistics service, warehousing, and son on.

In addition, as one of the Indonesia’s leading integrated port entity along upstream and downstream, KBS that was founded in 1996 has hundreds of affiliates covering trading, logistics, and manufacturing.

As the leading port operator in Banten handling more than 71% of the break bulk market, KBS market has continued to grow up. Last year (2020), KBS handled 18.3 million tons.
